Coursework emphasizes barber-specific services, including clipper cutting, facial shaving, beard design, sanitation, professional practices, and New York State barbering laws.
The program combines distance education for theory-based instruction with in-person, on- campus training for hands-on practical application. Practical training is conducted in
classroom and clinic environments offering barber services to the public and is designed to prepare students to sit for the New York State Barber Licensing Examination.

303 hours of practical instruction are completed on campus in classroom and clinic environments. Hands-on training includes instructor demonstrations, mannequin practice, and supervised work with real clients in a clinical setting.
